Let the Beauty of Nature shine through

Posted by msterilinn on Apr 30, 2008

LavenderIt is so wonderful to discover all the bounties nature provides, from nutritious foods to give us optimum health, to roots and herbs created to heal our bodies when we are injured, in discomfort or suffering from dis-ease. We have been blessed with an added bonus from the thoughtful creator of thousands of organics and minerals which give us the ingredients for a special form of maintaining great health on the outside as well as within…

Natural Beauty Products. It only makes sense to care for ourselves on the outside with the same consideration of health consciousness as we give to the care of our bodies on the inside. Our skin is like a giant sponge, and by now we should understand there is a very good reason our ancestors relied so strongly upon Nature to provide everything we need in this aspect. I just love it when I find new places dedicated to natural beauty, and am especially impressed when I discover they never test on animals, as these are the only beauty products I will consider. Even though I have a good supply of home-made soaps and such, it is always fun to supplement this with delightful organics from different places around the world. Each of us is different in our own special way, and it is so sweet to be able to let the Beauty of Nature shine through.

The Art of aging Gracefully and Naturally

Posted by msterilinn on Apr 14, 2008

Most people are shocked when they discover I am a grandmother. They usually look twice when they hear my little ones calling out to me at the park, or when we are out for a walk. When people ask me how I manage such a youthful appearance, I generally shrug and say “I am just lucky, I guess”. Then I get serious and tell people it has to do with keeping active (I love to dance and practice martial arts, tai chi and yoga), my faith in nature, and a positive outlook. I try to feed my body with nature and health in mind, although I do tend to indulge upon occasion (who doesn’t??), and pay close attention to what I put on my skin.

Our skin is like a sponge… everything we put on it is absorbed into our bodies to a certain point. Maintaining great health and youthful looks is really quite simple. Finding great natural products designed to promote skin wellness and reversing the signs of extrinsic skin aging while preventing future skin damage is an important step. Our faces are exposed to all kinds of harsh elements, and with the right anti-aging wrinkle cream added to our skin care regimen, we can prevent and even reverse such harmful damage.

I have had the pleasure to try out an excellent renewal face lotion from Epionce. I was particularly impressed with the subtle citrus scent, and smoothness as it gently penetrated my skin. It left my face feeling soft and supple, without the greasy feel of some facial lotions. This gives me to believe the claim that the Epionce products actually penetrate deep into the skin’s protective layer as well as the glue that holds your skin cells together. This causes your skin to become extremely healthy, where it will work to repair itself and grow as normal as possible creating an anti-aging effect. This means younger, healthy skin with an increase in collagen production and less visible signs of sun damage, aging, wrinkles and fine-lines.

I am looking forward to trying the renewal eye cream to help smooth and nourish the fine lines around my eyes. You may be certain that I shall endeavor to perfect the art of aging Gracefully and Naturally, and am quite happy to share what I learn along the way.

A rare find in the natural care of men’s skin

Posted by msterilinn on Mar 20, 2008

As a woman, I have found so many places that focus on our natural skin care. Some of these places offer a small selection of products for the males in our lives, almost as an afterthought. Yet is is rare that we find a place that has a focus solely on men’s skin care. I am not entirely certain why this is, and I suppose it never truly struck me until this moment how totally unfair to the masculine population this neglect is. I believe the males in my life would very much appreciate a greater selection and choice when it comes to caring for themselves in a good way. Trust me when I say this is something I am going to investigate further, and see for myself how my male friends and family feel about this. Our men deserve to be pampered and cared for just as much as women do, whether they will admit to it or not!

Alas, I will share a great place to start with a line of men’s skin care that left me a bit impressed to say the least. From shaving gels, creams and balms, to an absolutely delicious array of shampoos, conditioners and body essentials, with some wonderful natural ingredients designed to create an excellent array of choices for all types of male preferences… Anthony Logistics for Men is definately worth looking into.

Not only will you find some of natures finest ingredients, you will also find that a percentage of Anthony For Men proceeds is donated to charities in support of the fight against prostate cancer. One in six men are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in America, and is the most common non-skin cancer in America, with a new case diagnosed every three minutes. Every day, 101 men lose their lives to this disease. In the last decade alone, 350,000 men have died of prostate cancer. About an equal number of deaths were caused by Breast Cancer and this number represents more than three times the number of deaths from AIDS).

Well then, I am certainly willing to add Anthony Logistics for Men to my list of favourites and let people know what I think of a line of products with the male population in mind. Any thoughts and/or comments on this are most welcome!

Well then, while we are on the subject of Skin care, I will share our most recent experience. My daughter discovered her first bit of acne, and tried to get rid of it on her own. I asked her not to mess with it, and to please let me investigate a natural remedy, as I do not have a problem with acne myself.

So, let me offer this helpful Tip.

How to treat acne with Honey..

Things You’ll Need:

1 tbsp. almond oil
Honey
Lemon juice

Step 1:
Make a honey and almond oil cleansing mask to combat acne and prevent further outbreaks. Mix well 1 tbsp. of almond oil with two spoonfuls of natural honey. Apply a light layer of the cleanser to the effected area, massaging gently in a circular motion. Allow the cleanser to sit for a half an hour and rinse with warm water and a soft cloth.

Step 2:
Add a few drops of lemon juice to the cleanser for greasy skin. Start with a small amount and increase depending on the oiliness of the skin.

Step 3:
Use your honey and almond oil acne treatment daily to maintain acne-free skin and a healthy glow.

Step 4:
Store your honey acne treatment in the refrigerator. The honey and lemon will not go bad, however almond oil is highly perishable.

Honey is very useful for the treatment of acne as due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Unlike many over-the-counter and prescription acne remedies that can dry and irritate the skin, honey is soothing and can be applied topically and taken internally.
