We are all connected in our walks through this Life, either directly or undirectly. Therefor, we must do what we can to help our fellow humans, as we strive to preserve the natural world. I firmly believe that which causes dis-ease among people and animals are related to the health of the Earth and our environment. If we look to nature for our personal care products and nutritional supplements, as well as steering away from items made from substances proven dangerous to our health, we can live long healthy lives free from dis-ease.

Today I would like to make mention of a dis-ease which has touched several of my friends and their families. As many as 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior severe enough to affect work, lifelong hobbies or social life. Alzheimer’s gets worse over time, and it is fatal. Today it is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. It is the most common form of dementia, a general term for the loss of memory and other intellectual abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. Vascular dementia, another common type of dementia, is caused by reduced blood flow to parts of the brain. In mixed dementia, Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia occur together.

The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk® is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research – and it calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s. There are walks in more than 600 communities. A typical Memory Walk is a 2-3 mile walk held on a weekend morning in the fall.

Alzheimer’s Memory Walk is a great way to get involved and show your support for those you love, and people you know who are affected by this devastating dis-ease. By teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Association, you can walk with a purpose – and move us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. Together, we can MOVE a nation. Please consider forming or joining a team today!

Have you heard of the Blue Man Fraud? Well, until just recently, I had not. It appears this man decided to make a home-made solution which he claimed was Colloidal Silver. When he prepared the solution, he believed he was making colloidal silver, which is not true. The fact is that Paul has a condition called argyria, which turns the skin a blue gray color, that he got by taking his homemade silver compound that was mostly an ionic silver solution. Apparently there was a campaign to scare the public away from using colloidal silver products. The tactic was to claim that the Blue Man’s condition was caused by his use of Colloidal Silver, thus implying that anyone who uses colloidal silver would suffer a similar fate. Sounds more like simple insanity if you ask me! Who in their right mind would do such a dangerous thing?

Well then, let’s take a look at some facts about true Colloidal Silver

Colloidal silver appears to be a powerful, natural antibiotic and preventative against infections. Acting as a catalyst, it reportedly disables the enzyme that one-celled bacteria, viruses and fungi need for their oxygen metabolism. They suffocate without corresponding harm occurring to human enzymes or parts of the human body chemistry. The result is the destruction of disease-causing organisms in the body and in the food.

How it Works

The presence of colloidal silver near a virus, fungus, bacterium or any other single celled pathogen disables its oxygen metabolism enzyme, its chemical lung, so to say. Within a few minutes, the pathogen suffocates and dies, and is cleared out of the body by the immune, lymphatic and elimination systems. Unlike pharmaceutical antibiotics, which destroy beneficial enzymes, colloidal silver leaves these tissue-cell enzymes intact, as they are radically different from the enzymes of primitive single-celled life. Thus colloidal silver is absolutely safe for humans, reptiles, plants and all multi-celled living matter.

Product Quality

Many brands of colloidal silver are inferior. The highest grade is produced by the electro-colloidal / non-chemical method where the silver particles and water have been colloided, i.e., dispersed within and bound to each other by an electric current. The super-fine silver particles are suspended indefinitely in demineralized water. The ideal color of colloidal silver is a golden yellow. Darker colors indicate larger silver particles that tend to collect at the bottom of the container and are not true colloids. If a product contains a stabilizer or lists trace elements other than silver, or if it needs to be shaken, it is inferior. If a product requires refrigeration, some other ingredient is present that could spoil. The container and dropper must be glass, as plastic cannot preserve the silver in liquid suspension for any length of time. Some brands with high concentrations of silver may actually not be completely safe. High concentrations of silver do not kill disease germs more effectively than the safe range of 3 to 5 parts per million (ppm.).

This is a question we should all ask ourselves. As I get older, I am becoming more aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy heart. When I was younger, although I have always treated my body well, I just didn’t think about it so much. A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. Although through Nature and diligent care, my blood pressure is normal again, for a while there I was quite concerned as it was extremely high. This really got me thinking and doing some serious research on my own.

Heart Attack Risk

Lets take a look at some risk factors. A risk factor is any predisposition or behavior that increases an individual’s chances for having a medical condition. In some cases, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), can occur spontaneously without any known risk factors associated with its onset.

Some risk factors are manageable.

For example:

* Stress
* High blood pressure
* High cholesterol
* Cigarette smoking
* Excess weight
* Drug or alcohol abuse
* High fat diet
* Sedentary lifestyle

If you feel that you or someone you know may be at risk, please take a few moments to visit InsideCardiacArrest.com to learn more. Let’s educate ourselves on this subject. This is so very important, and we deserve to live long, healthy lives with strong hearts to carry us along.

In this post, I shall touch upon a subject that is not pleasant to discuss openly, and not just because it touches upon a rather nasty part of our bodily functions. I lost a very dear friend to Colon Cancer quite recently, so the subject of Colon health and the importance of a colon cleanse is brought forth with mixed feelings. For one, I am quite passionate about maintaining a naturally healthy balance within our bodies, and this feeling is doubled with thoughts of a very good friend, and his life on this Earth being cut short, as he was not truly old yet. After doing some research, I am pretty grossed out with the nastiness this function of our body becomes full of! Not to mention the painful and deadly results in not educating ourselves in caring for this in a good way.

Did you know that…

“One hundred percent of American adults, if they live long enough, have herniation of the bowel. The number one cancer among men and women together is colon/rectal cancer. The colon is the sewer of your body. If it’s not cleansed, the waste throughout the body can’t get out. According to some estimates, about 70 million Americans suffer from bowel problems. These statistics cover only those people whose problems are severe enough to cause them to consult a medical doctor. People who aren’t even aware that they have a bowel problem are often in the worst condition. When the colon is healthy, a person will have two or more well-formed bowel movements a day.”

Colon Health I would strongly suggest educating yourself on this very important subject, and seriously taking positive action to create a healthy environment within your body. As an example of a place to visit in your search for a possible product, perhaps you would like to visit http://www.oxypowder.com. There are many ways in which your body sends signals of inner dis-ease, and we owe it to ourselves to pay attention. Our bodies are gifts to enjoy a wonderful life on this Earth, so let us care for them accordingly. I wish you all much health and happiness on your earthly journeys!

Longest Walk 1978 - 2008It is absolutely incredible to see and hear such an outpouring of Love and dedication to help bring about awareness in helping our beautiful Earth. The Longest Walk 2008 is about hope and a message to the world about how important it is to save our Sacred Sites, and the people of Mother Earth. So many are suffering along with the Land, and Spirit moves us to do more to manifest the healing necessary for all Life to thrive on this planet we inhabit whilst in human form. I would like to take this time to share with you the stories and voices from the Longest Walk, and ask that you look into your hearts and give your thoughts and prayers for this important cause.

Visit The Longest Walk 1978 – 2008 and listen to the voices of the People. I will share a small sample of words spoken from the heart.

In the words of Shunsho Yamada = Japanese Coordinator and Translator…

“Many Japanese are interested in Indian culture and Indian ceremonies and philosophies. Japanese people are also interested in this Walk because Japan is facing tragedy. The Japanese suicide rate is 35,000 people per year – many due to economic hardship faced by suddenly losing their jobs. Also, Japanese summer temperatures are very high due to global warming and the typhoons are attacking very hard these days.

Japanese people have lost our religion and our spirituality in the last 60 years so we cannot find the way to undo the tragedy from our hearts. So many Japanese came here for the Walk that is happening. But also in speaking to the Japanese people, I would like to say that this Walk is one of the ways we can make a statement for healing and we need to do something from our hearts. Here there is much happiness for the future and we can see the hope for the future.

Many people have made huge sacrifices to be here – many have given up their jobs to be here. They are thinking very seriously about the future and they come here to seek the hope of the future. We will also be thinking about having a Walk or movement in Japan.

We live to be happy. Money is not a way to happiness. You can use money for a good way. Money spent in this way is Spirit. No money has value if you keep it. But if you give it, it then has value and that is the meaning of the good way.

It is a great honor to be here.”

I wrote another post recently on the The Longest Walk 2008, in case you are interested in reading about it here on my Blog. Or you may just visit their site to see what this is all about and get involved!

Of all the noble professions there is, nursing is up there on the top of my list. As a mother, I have been graciously endowed with nursing abilities and instincts, and then some. My extended family is also blessed with an abundance of talented and compassionate men and women in the field of the Medical Arts. We have Naturapaths, Midwives, Massage Therapists, several specialists in different fields, as well as Nurses.

Have you ever considered embarking upon a journey involving the nursing of others? If so, you may find a very good Vocational Nursing Program at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts. After looking through their program details, I feel they are most certainly qualified to provide the training needed to meet the needs of those interested in becoming a Nurse.

The Vocational Nursing Program (LVN programs or LPN) at Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts utilizes the plan that nursing courses progress along the continuum of simple to complex, normal to abnormal. The organizing principle is homeostasis as it relates to the study of representative client problems by addressing the various anatomical systems and specialty areas in nursing.

So, if it is in your heart to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse in caring for others as your chosen path in Life, then perhaps you would like to keep the Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts in mind.

While this subject is not a pleasant one to contemplate and talk about, it is not something I would see ignored or shuffled off to the side. What I am referring to is an issue which has, in many places of society, reached epidemic proportions. Drug and alcohol addictions affect all of us in one way or another. The physical and emotional impact of those who are addicted can be quite devastating, to themselves and to their families and loved ones. This hits very close to home with most of us, myself included. While I have been spared an addictive nature, some very close family members have not. This has served to create much heartache throughout the years. I would like to expand a bit upon the touchy subject of drug addiction.

Research shows that more than half of the people affected by one condition (such as an addictive disorder) are also affected by at least one other condition (such as an emotional condition or mental illness), and vice versa. This diagnosis is referred to by a variety of terms including: co-occurring disorder, dual diagnosis, co-morbidity, concurrent disorders, co-morbid disorders, and dual disorder. Individuals with co-occurring disorders often face a wide range of psychosocial issues and may experience more than two interacting illnesses. When all conditions are not simultaneously treated, recovery is far more difficult. Unfortunately, because many addiction treatment and mental health programs treat only one condition, many people are under-treated or inappropriately treated. A single course of treatment is less likely to be effective than a comprehensive plan of treatment that simultaneously treats all conditions, addictions, and disorders.

Unfortunately, because many addiction treatment and mental health programs treat only one condition, many people are under-treated or inappropriately treated. A single course of treatment is less likely to be effective than a comprehensive plan of treatment that simultaneously treats all conditions, addictions, and disorders.

The treatment program at The Canyon is nationally recognized for integrative methods and evidence based practices that have produced proven results for individuals with dual and multiple addiction and mental health disorders. While many programs claim to be or dual-diagnosis, they are one of very few facilities that are truly prepared to deal effectively with co-occurring disorders.

It is good to be aware of our options when choosing a drug rehab center. Emotionally and spiritually, those who enroll in addiction treatment with an open heart and mind will be more successful in rebuilding their self esteem, personal relationships and establishing a spiritual connection. The Canyon is the premiere sanctuary of healing for individuals with co-occurring conditions. This elite center offers a complete continuum of care that includes many treatment options, services, and learning tools that allow each client to build a lasting foundation of recovery.

My prayers go out to all those who are affected by these devastating dis-eases of our physical and mental states. May each one of those precious spirits find the help to restore their health and wellbeing, and find their paths to lasting happiness, as well as a healthy balance of Mind, Body and Spirit. Give yourselves the Gift of Healing.

When I was a child, as a rule, I was quite calm and at peace.  I did not get angry often, nor did I hold resentments. I would just let things go, knowing I had little control over my life, being that I was just a child. Most of the adults in my life treated me with kindness, as my nature was a kind one, so I now feel I was pretty lucky in this way. This was not so for my sister, who grew up in exactly the same environment. She kicked and fought every step of the way. She was not very kind or understanding, so she rebelled against most situations. This led to many difficulties, and a lot of negative emotions, to say the least. I tried to keep her out of trouble as often as possible, being her big sister, yet it did not work very often. She would ‘never’ let anything go! I just seemed to know that the easiest way to enjoying my childhood was to shrug most things off, and follow my imagination to places more interesting than the things happening in our adults world. All in all, I had a pretty good childhood.

Ah, but little did I know that being an adult did not automatically give me total control over my circumstances. I had to learn, through painful experience, how to determine that which was under my control from that which was not. And I had to learn all over again what it means to ‘just let go’. It was not easy. My nature is gentle and loving, yet I have a very strong will. I could be hurt easily, and it took a while to figure out that I had done nothing to deserve this pain, and though I could not control the actions of others, I could control my own reactions. This sometimes infuriated those choosing to inflict pain through emotions, yet I would react calmly and step back from that which was not mine to own.

I have experienced great depths of sadness, yet I choose to be happy in this moment. Those who come in contact with me react to this, and come away from the encounter with good feelings as well. It truly is contagious! Oh, I walk with my eyes wide open, and I do see all the horrors in this world. I just choose not to despair, and to do what I may to help restore the balance. The universe is composed of the Yin and the Yang. Good and bad. This is just how it is. I walk in the Light and choose to offer Love to those I may, and to help those who cannot help themselves. Ergo this blog, among other things.

When I find something that strikes a positive note in the music of my world, I like to make mention of it. I believe I may have found something of benefit. If there are folks out there that need help, and are experiencing self doubts and unhappiness, perhaps one would like to learn how “The Sedona Method” can help you become truly happy now.

Secret teacher Marci Shimoff’s new book “Happy For No Reason” reveals that Mariel Heminway avoids the depression that plagued her grandfather, Ernest Hemingway, with The Sedona Method. They are even offering a free DVD, CD and MP3 to get you started on the road to lasting happiness, peace, success and emotional well being.

Nearing the end of a recent Sedona Method Retreat held in Sedona, AZ, one of the attendees spoke about her experience. As quoted…

“I’m struck by how many of us are from different countries and different cultures, yet we came together this week. There were no cultural boundaries, no race boundaries, no religious boundaries – we all just came together as One World.”

The Sedona Method is a key to happiness and is part of a wave of happiness sweeping the planet. Perhaps we would like to jump out there and enjoy a ride on the wave of happiness!
