Are you truly Heart Healthy?
Posted by msterilinn on Mar 31, 2008
This is a question we should all ask ourselves. As I get older, I am becoming more aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy heart. When I was younger, although I have always treated my body well, I just didn’t think about it so much. A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. Although through Nature and diligent care, my blood pressure is normal again, for a while there I was quite concerned as it was extremely high. This really got me thinking and doing some serious research on my own.
Lets take a look at some risk factors. A risk factor is any predisposition or behavior that increases an individual’s chances for having a medical condition. In some cases, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), can occur spontaneously without any known risk factors associated with its onset.
Some risk factors are manageable.
For example:
* Stress
* High blood pressure
* High cholesterol
* Cigarette smoking
* Excess weight
* Drug or alcohol abuse
* High fat diet
* Sedentary lifestyle
If you feel that you or someone you know may be at risk, please take a few moments to visit InsideCardiacArrest.com to learn more. Let’s educate ourselves on this subject. This is so very important, and we deserve to live long, healthy lives with strong hearts to carry us along.

As it turns out, stress may or may not play a part on heart attacks, there is no hard facts on that. I truly agree with the fact that a healthy diet is very important- I am against caffiene because it unnaturally speeds up your system and I think that must contribute in someway to overall health, heart or other.
My blog is about the environment (and the future) too, and I often go off topic too (for various reasons), but a question: what prompted you to write this? Just a need to get it out in the open or some specific reason?
Love the article format!

Thanks for visiting Rika. Actually, I have had three good friends pass away in the past year and a half, and two of them were diagnosed as having their heart stop while they were sleeping. They were only in their 50’s. Another dear friend has had two heart attacks in the past two years, and he is also in his 50’s. When I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure it made me a bit nervous, so I just felt the need to address this issue. And you know… I do blog upon a whim as well, so you never know what I may come up with next. I am pretty much all about Nature, so this blog is personal.
