What’s it like to be a young Native American today? Teens
from throughout the United States share their stories in
“Native American Teens: Who We Are,” an upcoming In the
Mix special co-hosted by Native American rap artist and
film actor Litefoot. Shot around the country, the program
features profiles of accomplished teens, short films made
by young Native Americans, and an insightful discussion
with a group of young Native leaders from cities and
reservations throughout the United States.

Native Teens In The Mix

Just got a minute, yet I wanted to pass along this very important message I recieved…
Dear Teri,
The holidays are almost here.
And while you and I look forward to enjoying the warmth and good will of this joyful season, our wolves face deadly threats.
In Alaska, they are gunned down by airborne riflemen or chased
to exhaustion and shot at point-blank range. Idaho’s plan to kill
three out of four wolves in an area of Clearwater National Forest
was postponed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, but threatens to
re-emerge.
And Wyoming officials are seeking a court action that, if
granted, would lead to death of more than half of the
state’s wolf population.

Adopt A Wolf
What a rotten time I have had lately. I, who am usually the
most healthy of all healthy people have gone and gotten very
sick. Well, I knew I had more than a common cold when I had
this terrible cough for over three weeks. Too busy to stop
and take care of this properly, and it only got worse. Now I
am weak as a babe and have bronchitis. And it is so very
rainy and windy outside here in Oregon, so my kids have gone
and grounded me indoors. What a bummer!
Hmmm… now what shall I do? My mind is full of sooo many
ideas, so I have gotten out my handy notebook and started
writing again.. one of my favorite pastimes. Yet I feel my
first priority is regaining my energy and good health. So I
will take this down time to get myself back on track and
see just how best to go about this. My dear little Sara is
my nurse. I hope to take advantage of the situation and
teach her a bit more about Natural Healing at this point…
When I have another energy spurt I will be back to touch
base, hopefully with some great insights on my journey
with Sara in helping to heal her Mama…
Until then.. enjoy each moment and each other,
Teri and Sara Star
